Kerry Adkins
My name is Kerry Adkins and I am the president of Adkins OnTime Electric. Thank you for your interest in our company.
I was born and raised in the Birmingham area. I attended Midfield High School and after graduating went to UAB. I met my wife Carol when we were in high school. We dated for several years in high school and college. She went to the University of Alabama where she was a Crimsonette in the Million Dollar Band. We were married in 1985, after she came back from Tuscaloosa. We have a son named Gabriel who was born in 1994. Gabriel played soccer when he was younger and has now moved on to football, he is a big boy. I am blessed to have such a wonderful wife and son. We have lived in Vestavia since 1993. We are members of Church of the Highlands and love it there, if you are looking for a cool church come check it out.
My father started our company in 1975. During the summers, when I was in high school, I worked as an apprentice in the business. After a couple of years at UAB I decided to go full time in the business in 1983. Wow, that was a long time ago! Am I that old? Anyway, I worked my way up through the business and became certified as a master electrician in 1987. My father retired from this business in 1992 and I have been running it since then.
My goal for this business is to improve the lives of our clients and our team members. We can improve our clients lives by providing outstanding service and making their homes safer. We can improve our team’s lives by providing the opportunity to grow and learn, earn a good wage and an environment of teamwork and encouragement. If I can manage our business in a way that allows those things to happen I count that as success. This is an ongoing process that is never complete, but we work on it every day. Our mission is; “To provide outstanding service that exceeds the expectations of our clients while improving the professional, personal and financial lives of our team.” I hope we live up to that everyday.
Once again thank you for considering us. If I can ever be of service to you please give me a call.
Jimmie Jenkins
Hello folks I’m Jimmie Jenkins. I’m the elder statesman of the technicians in both experience and age. I’m approaching 30 years of experience and I appreciate the opportunity to put it to good use providing in-home service.
I’m the proud father of a beautiful daughter who is currently preparing for law school. I must admit she is the inspiration I look to when challenges come, such as my previous bout with cancer.
Thanks for taking a moment to share some of my life story. Please give us a call so I can come out and enjoy some of your stories while I solve any electrical challenges you should have.
Jeff Adams
My name is Jeff Adams and I am the Service Manager here at Adkins. I started my career when I was laid off from ACIPCO. I went to work for Adkins in 1983. At that time they were mainly a new construction company. After about 10 years I started my own business focusing on residential new construction. In 2003 I rejoined the Adkins team. I was excited about their plans to provide electrical service and repair work for homeowners. I feel like I have a career here instead of just a job. It also feels like a second family to me. I am a single father with one son, Tanner, who attends Riverchase Middle School. We live in Helena and are members of the Church at Cahaba Bend.

Daniel Fuller
Hello, my name is Daniel Fuller, and I am a client care representative with Adkins. I thoroughly enjoy working for this company. The dedication and diligence to serve others are traits of this company that I believe make it distinct from many other companies. Currently, I am a student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, majoring in psychology with an english minor. After graduation, I plan to attend New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary to attain a Master of Divinity with specialization in psychology and counseling.
I would be gravely remised if I mentioned any element of my life without reference to my Savior and my God, Jesus Christ. As all men, the testimony of my life is not unlike that of the apostle Paul. Like Paul says in Romans 7, “I would not have known sin if it were not for the law [of God]. For example, I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, ‘Do not covet.’ …The commandment that was meant for life resulted in death for me. For sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.” God opened my eyes to the grave situation that mankind faces. Paul presents our hopeless existence, stating that “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, together they have become useless; there is no one who does good, there is not even one.” How did God respond to what we have become? Romans 1:28-32 says, “And because they did not think it worthwhile to have God in their knowledge, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong. They are filled with all unrighteousness, evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, disputes, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful. Although they know full well God’s just sentence [of death]—that those who practice such things deserve to die—they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them.” Every man, woman, and child has this kind of evil imbedded in their very being from the moment of conception. “Indeed, I was guilty when I was born; I was sinful when my mother conceived me” (Psalm 51:5).
I realize that this proves to be a grim circumstance when the only thing that awaits such evil in us is the wrath and anger of a just and holy God who must punish immorality and evil if He is to remain just and righteous. I believe we would scoff and slander an American judge who acquits a thief or murderer or shows any partiality towards criminality. Therefore, it should not surprise us that God, Who is the creator of the very principles we so treasure in the United States—religious and non-religious alike—would not allow His law to be broken and someone to get away with it. In fact, God hates injustice. Proverbs 17:15 says, “Acquitting the guilty and condemning the just—both are detestable to the Lord.” Therefore, it is clear that God will justly and impartially punish all sin that we as humans are enslaved to. The most despairing of all is there is nothing that can be done by our own hand (Isaiah 64:6). A dead man cannot give himself life. Yet, the good news of the Gospel is that God Almighty became a man (John 1:14).
Jesus, who became the image of the invisible God (Col. 1:15), came to the world to save the world from its hopeless situation. Romans 5:6 says, “For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment, Christ died for the ungodly.” God crushed His Son, and was pleased to do so because of His hatred against sin (Isaiah 53:5). The death of Christ appeased God’s wrath against sin and allowed God to remain just in pardoning sinners (Romans 3:26). Therefore, Christ Jesus is the one and only way to God (John 14:6). Christ calls all men to repent and turn from all sinful things—from the love of money, nice stuff, popularity, pride, and all other perversion so that your sin might be forgiven (Acts 3:16; Acts 8:22) so that your sinful flesh may die and you may be given life in Christ (Romans 6:6-11) and become a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17) with a new heart (Ezekiel 36:26), desiring only the things of God and no longer treasuring things of the world (Philippians 3:8).
